| Day 1: | |
| Evening
arrival, reception at airport, transfer to backpacker's hotel,
morning arrival, transfer to harbor. 7:30
- Depart from harbor in regional boat. Travel upstream the Negro
River. Stop at Acajatuba Village to visit native river people (ribeirinhos)
and see one of their farms. Buffet lunch on board. Afternoon, trip continues upstream to Jaraqui Village which is just next to the famous Anavilhanas Islands. Evening alligator spotting, dinner, overnight. |

| Day 2: | |
| Early
breakfast, jungle trek, two options, 7 hours trek with lunch in
jungle or 3 hours trek with lunch on board. Your guide will
instruct you on jungle survival. Good opportunity to see plants,
birds and animals. Dinner, overnight.

| Day 3: | |
| Breakfast.
Canoe ride through creeks and small tributaries (and flooded
forest when water is high). Opportunity to try your hand at
paddling. Lunch on board. Afternoon, prepare camp in jungle for
overnight.

4:

| Breakfast.
Travel downstream the Negro River with short stop at Meeting of
the Waters. Lunch. Travel upstream the Amazon River to Janauacá
Lake for afternoon fishing trip (piranhas) and reconnaissance tour
of the area. Dinner, overnight.

5:
|
|
| Wake
up call at 5:00 am for bird watching. Breakfast. Walk in flooded
forest with possibilities of seeing monkeys, sloth’s, a variety
of birds and other animals. Lunch. Free afternoon. Evening bird
watching for nocturnal birds and alligator spotting (different
from first night).

| Breakfast.
Travel back to Manaus. Arrival approx. 4:00 pm. Transfer to Hotel.
Dinner, overnight.

| Day 7: | |
| Pick
up at Hotel at 8:30 am for City Tour. Visit to the Opera House,
the Municipal Market, the Museum and Ponta Negra.
|

| The
above is a Seven Day Package which could be modified to
suit your preference. Longer trips will take you deeper into the
Amazon Basin where you will have the opportunity to spend more
time observing the typical way of life of the native indians and
participating in some of their day to day activities.
